"I was born in Colombia and I've lived in Queens since I was nine. The first time my boyfriend, Tony, showed me a copy of Newcummers, I told him I wanted to be in it. I was the one who had to persuade him that it would be fine. I did that by promising to do some things for the camera that he'd never seen me do before. That was enough to get him to agree to take the photos. He practiced by taking photos of all his family and friends.
